Out 2009 welcome 2010

Out 2009 and welcome 2010
The last few days in 2009 brought clumsiness out of me.  I was like one crazy woman at work. There's pile of things to finalise before the year-end.  My subordinate EG is on vacation for a week, she'll be back next year.  All her half-done assignment has fallen onto my honourable lap. She has two sets of LC documents to complete that must be submitted to the bank by 31st. Baik punyer assistant!  Her 5 sets of CO were rejected by the chamber yesterday due to tons of errors.  And another blunder, she has forgotten to activate her "out-of-office" message in her outlook, hence, panicking the overseas dealers as all their emails are not replied. Meaning, my outlook is now overflowing with SOS mails.

Last Monday, ST was on MC.  Fine!  Tuesday, when she returned, RK was on MC. Astaghfirullah... itu saja yang dapat dilafazkan.  The super hectic period contributed to my sleepless night on Tuesday.  I finally fall asleep after subuh prayer.  Sleep.... all the way till 11am.  Gosh! reached office at 12.10 like one superstar. A very bad example to end the year, I know.  Anyway, I was in the office until past 10 pm uploading 2010 prices into the computer system.

Argh.... this is me at office since after Christmas holidays.  Fire-fighting all the time.

Career was very challenging for me especially this year.

As a CSM, I was given a target for 2009.  Luckily I managed to achieve them but with tremendous stress of course.   All I could say is Alhamdulillah. Rezeki is in the hands of Allah SWT. If he wants to give it to you, he will extend it to you in any means and ways.

I've learnt so much in the pass years with great extend of experiences and responsiblities. Now I look forward to a better 2010.  InsyaAllah...

May Allah SWT bless us with good health and wealth and strengthen our iman as a good muslims, in the coming year and years to come.  Amin....

Happy new year...

Bingung + Bengang

Just now at office, I received a phone call from a friend. We talked for about 30 minutes. After I put down the phone, I termenong sekejap ... teringat kata2 beliau.  Hmm.... I believed, we can write or comment anything we wish in our blog or other people's blog. So long we jaga our etika and bersopan, it's fine.  It's merely a thought, that's all. Arghhhh.... I don't understand why some people can go to the extend of analysing other people's comment and made their own judgement.  If you like it, read it and if you dont, just leave it. You don't have to call everybody and discuss on other people's comments.  Tak faham lah... why waste your time discussing about it.  Buang masa jer....

Btw dear friend, I know 'her' better than you do coz we are related. I know that her comment is sincere, no hidden agenda.

21st birthday BASH

I was so busy lately with works...that I have no time to post a very memorable moment happened on 23-Nov.  Gosh! my son has turned 21. Yes, my dear Fahmi is 21 years old.  I had secretly planned a surprise party for him.  I was on leave on that day as there were few things to do. First, my eldest brother and his wife were leaving for their blessed journey to Mecca in the late morning. In the afternoon, I accompanied Fahmi to Police Academy for some briefing on his SPF enlistment. In between, I quietly called his kakis asking them to come over around 6.30pm. All my other siblings had been mobilised to prepare for the surprise.  To kill time, we hang around at supermarket and have some drinks at food court.  I'm glad he did not notice of the super long time we spent together outside.  He still thinks that we will be going out for birthday dinner as usual.  I cannot forget his facial expression when he opened the door that evening .........

Here are some photos to share ...

P/S : the next day, I received an sms from the birthday boy

....."thank you for the gifts and the lovely surprise that you planned. I'm extremely touched by everything that happened. Thank you so much. I love you mom"...

I love you too son.

I hate my job

I hate my job. I am not kidding.

You want to know what I did at work every week? ABSOLUTELY BUSY LIKE ONE MAD WOMAN. I sat at my ***** desk with tons of paper for definitely more than 40 hours. I vetted and signed hundreds of invoices. And I read hundres of emails. And I attended a super-boring meeting to which I received another tons of assignment.

I hate my job. Some of you probably think I've got it made. I go to work in a climate controlled office, does'nt do much thing, and get paid for the opportunity. Who wouldn't love that?? You might be surprised. Time passed very fast when you have loads of thing. And I do mean FAST. I always didn't reallised the time until after everybody leaves the office at 6 pm.

My subordinate are a bunch of shits. One guy have to leave the office at 5.30 on the DOT everyday. "I'm sorry I've to leave now ... I'll do it tomorow morning, bye..." Another guy, "OMG! you mean I've to do this???? but why???? how can I manage???? why me???" Another guy, always MIA squatting at some Angmohs desk! endless shits !!!!......

I hate my job. I especially hate my boss. I have to listen to him in his office all day as he rambles on ad nauseum, using meaningless MBA terms like "functional matrix" and "deliverables" and "actional components" and "gap analysis" and "metrics" and "stratification" and "high level goals" and "distributed users" and "audit trail" and "ad hoc" and "resource snapshot report"...and that's ALL IN ONE SENTENCE. Sounds like he swallowed a textbook on corporate management. In a meeting the other day, he told me he wants to start having "brown bag sessions." WTF IS A BROWN BAG SESSION? If he thinks I'm going to spend my lunch hour sitting around a table and listening to his oral diarrhea, he better think again. I got a brown bag with something in it just for him...and it ain't an old changkee curry puff.

I hate my job. I'd rather selling flowers at Pusara Aman to hundreds of Mak Ciks. At least I'd be outdoors getting some fresh...well, getting some air. Every day would be chock full of surprises, and I'd have plenty of colorful stories to pass on to my grandchildren.

I hate my job. I just thought of another reason, my colleague, Sales "Director" is a butt puppet. Ever since he started his new position this year, he has been all about pleasing customers. Now I gotta send huge parcel to PTM by DHL every week at our cost. Not forgetting squeezing three forty-footer container load of machines into a two forty-footer container for PTM. This is madness! He's acting like a saint, Mr Nice Guy to a bunch of Indons there who he always called "Bro". Perhaps, Berok is more appropriate!

I hate my job. Please help me find another one before I go on a shooting rampage. Helppppppppppppppppppppppppppp

Aku sedih

15 tahun lalu, ketika pertama kali aku merenung wajah mu, ayer mata ku berlinangan.

Aku merenung wajah mu lagi. Dalam tangisan, aku mengimbas kenangan lama bersama mu dulu. Aku terkenang sewaktu kau baru mula bertateh. Waktu kau baru tahu berjalan sendiri, waktu kau kumandikan di bath tub, waktu kau ku sikatkan rambut sebelum kesekolah, waktu kau membaca buku "Rapunzel".

Walking home after work

Finally, I've started walking home from work. It has been one over week already. Yes, I mean walking ... a real walk by foot from Toh Guan Road East to Tah Ching Road in Taman Jurong. It takes me one hour, and so far it has been a really nice way to end my work day. I hope and aim to walk at least three times a week.  InsyaAllah.

Yesterday evening was absolutely a gorgeous day especially the walk in Chinese Garden. The rain had just stopped when I entered the garden and the breeze seemed to accompany me while I walked alone by the lake. It was so quiet and peaceful... away from the busy streets. It was a wonderful walk.

I felt pretty grateful. Grateful for having such a beautiful garden within a walking distance from my home. Grateful for my old walking sandal who is so faithful to me. And even more grateful to the Almighty for giving me the ability to walk. Alhamdullillah....

Syawal makin hampir... Ramadhan akan berlalu...

Terasa hening di akhir-akhir malam Ramadhan ni... kesayuan menusuk kehati ku, terasa kesunyian dan kesyahduan. Syawal pasti muncul…
Sungguh syahdu sekali…..

Sekarang… tiada lagi ketupat, tiada lagi dapur angklu, tiada lagi ngomelan emak.  Aku sangat-sangat merindui mereka.

Selamat Hari Raya maaf zahir batin.

Journey to the Holy Land - July 2009

I begin in the name of Allah, The Most Beneficient, The Most Merciful.  As I start to reflect upon the memories of my first visit to the Holy Lands recently with my best friend, Sriyathi. I must say that words will do no justice to the feelings and emotions I experienced on this blessed journey.

My journey begins from Changi International Airport on 3-July 2009, Friday evening. I'm so happy that all my brothers and their spouses and children and not forgetting my other best friend Nosha and her husband Brian came to the airport to see me off.

As we were flying Qatar Airways, we have to transit at Doha for our connecting flight to Jeddah.  Upon landing at Jeddah, the atmosphere completely changed.  The heat hit us as soon as we came out of the airport terminal.  It was really hotter than the hottest days in Singapore that I had experienced. No wonder the Arab women cover their faces. It's not because it's customory to do so, but it's the practical thing to do there. I was told that the temperature is around 42-44 degree C.  SubhanAllah.

As I did not go with my muhrim (my husband), I was asked to tag along Cik Jamil (one of the jema'ah who came with his wife and daughter) and pretended to be one of his muhrim.  After a few formalities with the immigration there, our passports were returned to us.

I have mixed emotions as I left Jeddah and headed towards the blessed city of Medina, the final resting place of our Rasullullah, Nabi Muhammad (SAW).  The journey took us around five hours cutting through numerous rocky mountains and miles and miles of deserts.  Now, we were travelling in luxury and comfort in an air-conditioned vehicle (and yet I'm complaining that the AC is not cold enough), so different from the time when this journey was undertaken on camels in the scorching heat of the desert.

It was late evening when we arrived in Medina Al-Munawarah, the Illuminated City.  The calm and peaceful atmosphere of Medina is just beyond imagination, this is where our beloved Rasullullah (SAW) spent the last 10 years of His blessed life and this is the place where Rasulullah (SAW) will rest until the Day of Judgement.

The next morning around 3.00 am, we walked to the magnificent mosque, Mesjid an-Nabawi for our subuh prayer.  Over the centuries, many extensions have taken place and today the size is just unbelievable.  The most famous sign is the Green Dome, this dome has been created upon the chambers which housed the maqam of our Holy Prophet, Nabi Muhammad (SAW) and His two Companions, Sayidina Abu Bakar (RA) and Sayidina Umar (RA).  Adjacent to Nabi Muhammad's (SAW) grave is the original site of Saidatina Aisyah's (RA) house, the Prophet's wife, and also the site of Saidatina Fatimah's house, the Prophet's daughter. The segregation facilities within the mesjid is remarkable.  The maqams are situated at the front of the mesjid.  The section between the maqam and the mimbar from where Rasullullah (SAW) used to deliver His sermon is known as Taman Raudhah (Garden of Paradise), this particular section is always very crowded with thousands of worshippers. The mesjid is open 24 hours, however, for women, Taman Raudhah is open only three times a day with only two hours each time (after solat subuh, after solat zuhur and after solat isyak).  It was a very emotional moment as I entered the chamber.  Words will do no justice to the feelings of that precise moment.  Here I am, standing a few metres away from the  Leader of the Prophets and Leader of the whole mankind.  I cried when I presented my salams and the salams of my beloved husband, and all my brothers and sister-in-laws to our Rasullullah (SAW).  I was very fortunate to be able to perform my solat sunat a number of times within Taman Raudhah.

The Medina visit was not entirely confined to ritual activities.  Since Medina was the first Islamic administration centre established by our Rasulullah (SAW), there are a lot of historical places around it worth visiting.  On our fourth day in Medina, we were taken to various places of interest.

Our first stop is Jabal Uhud , the place where the Muslims battled with the Kafirs of Mekah. At first, the Muslims won the battle but later lost it because the Muslim archers, who were not supposed to leave their position on the hill (Jabal Rahmat), abandoned their position against the instruction of Rasullullah (SAW).  The enemy took advantage of this situation and launched a counter attack on the Muslims.  Sayidina Hamzah bin Abdul Mutalib, known as the "Lion of Islam" and also uncle of Rasulullah (SAW) was also killed in this battle.  The graves of 70 Islamic martyrs including Sayidina Hamzah  were laid to rest at the foot of Jabal Uhud.

We also visited Mesjid al-Qiblatain (mosque with two qiblah directions).  The mosque obtained its name from an event where Rasullullah (SAW), while performing the Asar prayer, was given an instruction to shift the qiblah from Mesjid Al-Aqsa in Jerusalem to the Ka'abah in Mecca.  Hence, Rasullullah's first two raka'ats were facing Al-Aqsa and the 3rd and 4th raka'ats were facing Ka'abah. The shift served as a testimony of Ka'abah as the oldest holy site first marked by Nabi Adam (AS) and later built by Nabi Ibrahim (AS).

Next is Mesjid Quba'.  This is the first mosque that was built by Rasullullah (SAW) and his companions when he first arrived in Medina at the early stage of of the "Hijrah".

Last is the visit to Pasar Kurma.  There were many varieties of dates being sold.  Among others, I bought the 'kurma Nabi', which was Rasullullah's (SAW) favourite during His time.  As kurma is also my husband's favourite snack, I bought for him 2 kg and few more kg of other variety.

The rest of the four days in Medina were spent by commuting between the mosque (for prayers) and the hotel (for our meals) and some side tracking to the shopping malls.

On our last day in Medina, after our breakfast in the hotel, we went to the mosque again for ziarah wadak (bid farewell).  It was sad to leave Medina and at the same time I cannot wait to see Mekah.

We proceeded our journey to Mekah after our solat zuhur and after our lunch around 2.30 pm, already in Ihram.  Our miqat was at Bir Ali where we did our solat sunat ihram before jatuh niat in the coach. It was a sea of dry land and rocky hills throughout the five over hour journey. We stopped for our Asar prayer in one of the many small mosque along the highway.

It was around 7.30pm when we reached the Holy City and nothing can describe the feeling as we entered the sacred land. As per Ustadz Misran's instruction, we did our solat jamaq takhir for Maghrib and Isyak in our own room. After a quick fresh-up and dinner, we went straight to Masjidil Haram to perform our first umrah.

My first glimpse of the Ka'abah was veiled by an astounding wave of tears.  All these years I had prayed towards this structure, and here it stood before me, looking so glorious than I could ever have imagined.  It was surreal.  The pictures I had seen, none of it had prepared me for the moment when my own eyes lit upon the magnificense that was the Ka'abah.  "Here I am, Ya Allah. Here I am before You" and I added weeping..."I need Your Mercy and Compassion right now more than ever"
A sea of people were busy in Tawaf and we joined the flow. It was amazing.  Thousands of people from all over the globe with different languages and colours moving in one direction.  Still, amidst the feelings of exultation and the amazement of finally being here, I experienced a sense of deep despair.  For I stood before God in shame. Clad in pure white, I was imperfect, stained with sins that had been repeated time and again.  Some I had sought to resist, and others for which I had not even made the effort, some for which I had sought forgiveness, others for which I had not.  After the tawaf, when Ustadz Misran recited the doa and later translated them into Malay, I immediately feel it.  A very strong feeling of sorrows.  I felt so small.  I cried as I sought God's forgiveness in front of the Ka'abah.

The seven circuits around the Holy Ka'abah took about 45 minutes.  After quenching our thirst with Zam Zam water, we proceeded with the next rite, moving into the direction of Bukit Safa to start the Sa'i.  Starting at Bukit Safa and finishing at Bukit Marwah.  The final rite after Sa'i is to shave (tahalul) or cut some of the hair. My first umrah was completed successfully at around 11.30 pm. Alhamdullillah, thanks to The Almighty.

In total, I did four umrahs.  I actually  planned to make more, but my leg is aching badly due to excessive walks that I made days before.  It hurts terribly that making a simple sujud has become a challenge for me.  During one of my morning tawaf with Kak Yati (representative from Halijah Travel), we managed to squeeze ourselves and had our Dhuha prayers at Hijir Ismael.  Kak Yati intended to kiss Hajar Aswad and asked me to come along.  So, right after our Dhuha prayer, we started to inch our way towards Hajar Aswad.  It was very difficult...as there were too many people trying to do the same.  But with God's help, we able to squeeze ourselves through and finally Hajar Aswad is within reach. And after a real hard push, I managed to see, touched and kissed the Hajar Aswad.  However, to get out from the entangled human crowd was a nightmare, with people pushing from every direction.  I was kind of trapped in the middle. I feel that my legs are not standing on the ground, I was like floating few inches above the ground. Ya Allah... and for a moment I thought I was going to faint.  I could see a few faces trying frantically to reach my hand.  Finally, after using all my ultimate strength, I managed to get out. Alhamdullillah... Alhamdullillah... I was sobbing when I saw Kak Yati and quickly hugged her.  With tears in our eyes we said our 2 raka'ats prayers infront of Ka'abah together.

Like, Medina. Mekah is nothing but a ritual town with trading and retailing as the backbone of the economy.  On our 6th day in Mekah, we were taken for a tour to various historical sites around Mekah, Mina and Muzdalifah.

First was to the foot of Jabal Thur, on top of this hill is a cave in which our Rasulullah (SAW) and Sayidina Abu Bakar lay hidden for three days at the time of their migration to Medina.

Next, we went to the foot of Jabal Nur.  There's also a cave at the top of this mountain where our Rasullullah (SAW) used to meditate and detached Himself from the deviated Mekah's residents. It was here that Rasullullah received the first Wahyu of Surah al-Iqraq.  The amazing thing about the cave is that it faces directly towards Ka'abah.

We also visited Jabal al-Rahmah, the hill where Adam (AS) and Eve (AS) were united after they were expelled to earth. Jabal al-Rahmah is also a sacred hill in the middle of the Plain of Arafah. I managed to inch myself to the top.  Next was a tour of Arafah Plains, Mina and Muzdalifah to see the routes to be taken by pilgrims during hajj season.

Like Medina, the rest of the seven days in Mekah were spent by walking between the mosque (for prayers) and the hotel (for our meals) and again some side tracking to the shopping malls.  Here in Mekah, the malls are more modern, names like Baskin Robbin, Movenpick, Burger King, KFC etc... are all there.

On our last day in Mekah, I went for my subuh prayer alone as my room-mate was sick. After solat, I sat for almost one hour at the steps facing the Ka'abah just gazing at this majestic black structure. I was swarmed with emotion and choking with tears.  God... I just want to be here again, please don't let this be my last visit. I prayed that there will be another opportunity to visit Masjidil al-Haram again, hopefully with my loved ones soon.

After our breakfast we carried our luggages to the lobby before going back to the mosque again to perform Tawaf Wada (to bid farewell to the Ka'abah).  And again, Ustadz Misran recited the doa in Malay and this brought tears to everybody's eyes.  After the doa, we hugged each other and asked forgiveness from one another.  It was a very emotional moment.

We proceeded to Jeddah at 9.00 am.  In Jeddah, we visited the floating mosque which is situated on the shore of the Red Sea. Standing at the shore facing the open sea, I couldn't help myself  thinking about the journey made by Nabi Musa (AS) during His crossing of this sea with the Pharaohs chasing behind him.  After the brief stop, we then proceeded to Jeddah Int'l Airport to catch our flight to Doha before connecting another flight to Singapore.

This Umrah trip was never, in any way, similar to the other overseas trips I ever made.  It was the best, it gave me both serenity and the chance to enhance my religious knowledge.  The special attractions of Mekah and Medina are not found anywhere else in the world, this makes me want to go there again.

I pray that Almighty Allah will give me the strength to be a good Muslim. I pray that I will always be prompt and faithful to prayer. I pray that I will recite more of the Qur'an every day before & after solat. I pray that my humble umrah is accepted and I pray too that I am offered the chance to return to Mekah and Medina once more.  InsyaAllah.

Remembering sahabat on 1-Rejab

Kebelakangan ini, hati begitu sayu sekali.   I sometimes get emotional for no apparent reasons, entahlah kenapa sekarang boleh jadi che'ngeng. Banyak perkara berligar di benak fikiran, anak-anak, suami, tugas pejabat ....

Dalam kesyahduan ini, Yati sent me a short email yesterday saying that she is terharu for the help I rendered to lighten her problem with her ex-SIL. She said that she will always remember the day, as yesterday was 1-Rejab. Yati is one of my close friend.  We have known each other since Sec 1, way back in 1975.  We have certainly come a long way, haven't we? From our childhood days, through our blossoming youth (Alhamdullillah without serious damages) and then into the roles of a wife, and then a mother.  Those were certainly the days!!!  She is a very quiet and reserved person, blessed with two gorgeous kids.  She got married eight years after me, on the same day though, 7-October.

Her short email has indeed triggered back old fond memories... I have never imagine that one day after thirty-over years of friendship, we will be taking the journey to the Holy land together.  InsyaAllah...

May Allah Ta'ala let us reach 10-Rejab and grant us the ability to spend it in a manner most pleasing to Him.  Amin...

Today is your birthday... and that makes it a special day for me, too!  Because you're a very special person in my life.  Each memory is special, and each one make me look forward to spending many more good times together in the days and years ahead.  I find myself thinking of many good memories we have shared... happy times when we laughed our way through and troubled times when you helped me just by being there!  You're my knight and shining armour... I love you...Bang!

Bali.... here I come

Hooray...I'm in Bali now.

We arrived here yesterday night at 11pm.  So far, things went smoothly as planned. Weather is nice... very windy.

This is my first trip to this tradition-rich island and I think I like this place. The resort we stayed is very nice, styled in a typical Balinese concept.

Tomorrow, we will drive to Kintamani, a village with a volcano. I'm so excited because we will drive through the country side with miles of terrace rice field.

OK for now, I will post some pictures when I get home on Tuesday.

Cheers from Bali.

2 days MC...

I was so tired when I woke up on Monday morning two days ago.  My head seems to be so full nowadays!!  I don't like feeling this way, it's such an out of control mode and it scares me to bits!!

Ya Allah.. malas nyer nak pergi office.  Kenapa ni?????  I jadi bertambah tambah malas when my other half said "dah lah tu... rest jer pat rumah hari ni... tak payah masok office ..." REST? bagus jugak! I pun terus jumped onto the bed again and continue sleeping until around 0900.  Shall I apply for emergency leave or shall I go and take MC? Hhmm....after some procrastination, I decided for the latter one. OK set. After a quick shower I walked to Dr Yang's clinic near the mosque. The usually boring walk turned out to be a nice walks as my mind begin to fabricate some grandmother stories for Dr Yang. I leave his clinic brimming widely as Dr Yang had fallen in love with my pathetic stories. "I want you to have a complete rest these two days. Don't think too much. And don't stress yourself". After collecting my "anti-kancheong" pills, I leave his clinic, feeling very satisfied.

I spent my first MC day baking sugee biscuits. Managed to bake 400 over pieces. These are for Anis, my niece who is getting married this Sunday.

My second MC day...
Question 1) What am I going to do today????  OK, nothing....
Question 2) Should I go out? Where to? hmmm ... good question.  I shall call my helpline for an answer. "hello Tee, nak ikut pergi Geylang nanti?" Alhamdullillah, Yatee, being one of my close friends since secondary 1 is more than willing to accompany me.

We meet at 12 sharp in front of Geylang Serai market. I managed to get all the stuff I needed for my July trip. She is one true friend.  Thanks Tee for your time and patience ...  May Allah keep you under His wing & always protect and guide you, Ameen...

So this morning, when I reached my office, a stacked of documents on my desk waiting for my signatures.  When I on my PC, hundreds of emails to read and reply.  When other staff starts to arrives, complaint arrives as well.  Argh.... Where do I begin? Sounds like the song by Andy Williams… I’m trying hard to settle down but I don’t know where I should begin first – there are just so many things to do.  Anyway... I finally managed to pull through the day like any other busy day.... only this times round, I was compensated in advance 2 days MC ....

One rude man!!!

Here is an excerpt of a brief telephone conversation I had yesterday in the office.

I telephoned a tailor (recommended by one of my SIL) to enquire if she can sew baju for me. A rude man answered the phone.

Myself : hello... can I speak ...(before i could finish my line)

Rude man : NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!

Myself : ?????? hello, I would like to speak to the tailor. Is your wife there?

Rude man : NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!

Myself feeling extremely agitated : WHAT NO! NO! NO???? Is this a tailor?
Rude man : FIRST TIME MAKE BAJU?!?! NO NEW CUSTOMER! NO NEW CUSTOMER! NO! NO! NO!

Rude man slammed the phone on me.

Myself : shit!

Can you believe this? Can you imagine how I feel? Argh.................

Macam macam di bulan March...

It has been quite a while since I last update my blog. Lately, work committment has snatched most of my free time. OK, let see what did I do in the past weeks... hmm...

Sunday, 22-March
Went shopping at Bugis & Sim Lim Square with husband and kids. We bought two new laptop, one for me & husband and the other one for Faris. From now on, I can surf the nets without having to fight with my daughter, Sarah. I'm so puas hati...

Saturday, 28-March
Attend Fadli's wedding dinner at Fort Canning. Fadli is my cousin Saad's son. The wedding is so "gah" with a very nice decor and lots of roses. Great food and variety of dessert. Here are some pictures to share with you.

Sunday, 29-March

Today, my cousin Shaffiq and family came to visit us. I'm so happy to have them over for lunch. We have great time catching-up and chatting away. I guess, the chemistry is working very well for us, especially on home decor. Fiq, I wish you the best of luck on your move to WA on 24-April.

In the evening, we went to Telok Blangah Hill for a walk at Hort Park with the kids. The weather was super nice. The walk reminds me of the tree top walk we had at Pemberton.
As we still have some time after the walk, we headed to Keppel Bay to see the sunset.

25 tahun lalu ....

Dengan restu ibu bapa tercinta
Kita telah membina sebuah bahtera
sejak saat itu ...

kita sama sama melayari bahtera yang serba kekurangan
kadang kadang pelayaran kita ditimpa gelombang
Alhamdullillah ... bahtera kita tidak pernah musnah
malahan ia bertambah utuh
dan kita mampu terus belayar
hingga kini ...

I love you.... my child

I know you hate me
but do you know that I love you?
I love you more than anything
please ... don't hate me ... my child

I hope one day you will know that I love you
and really hope that "one day" will come while I'm still around
so that I can see and feel your love

Please tell me "I love you mom"
I want to hear it from you ... my child
at least once, before my time comes

am I a bad mother?
am I a useless mother?
am I good for nothing?

Please ... help me to be a good mother
help me to be a useful mother
only you can help me ... my child
so we can continue to love and be loved

Julai....

Julai....

hari demi hari ... ku menanti kedatangan mu
semoga langkah ku tak terkandas ditengah jalan

aku tak ingin keseorangan
temanilah aku
pimpinlah tanganku
semoga kita sama sama melalui titian suci itu

Julai....
permudahkanlah laluanku
terangilah persimpangan yang akan aku redah ini
semoga langkah kerdilku akan membawa aku kesana
bersama mu

Permata dewata

aku sedih
hati ku begitu hancur
kenapa ini semua terjadi?
adakah ini salah ku?

aku sedih
melihat permata hati ku
jadi begini
dimanakah pendirian mu?
dimanakah kesopanan mu?

permata dewata
sedarlah sayang
jangan leka dengan buaian asmara
yang memabukkan
sampai terlupa halal dan haram

oh tuhan
bimbingi lah dia
lindungi lah dia
dari segala maksiat dan kejahatan
semoga kembali kepangkal jalan

Thank you ... dear friend

Teman .....

Dear friend....
I want to tell you "Thank you,"
But it doesn’t seem enough.
Words don’t seem sufficient...
"Blah, blah, blah" and all that stuff.
Please know I have deep feelings
About your generous act.
I really appreciate you;
You’re special, and that’s a fact!
Thank you, thank you, thank youuuuuuuuuu ......

A true collector

I was stunned and dumbfounded to see a huge collection of bone china and wall clocks at a friend's house on last Monday evening.  His collection truly amazed me.  The minute I step in, I was like being glued on the spot, can't bear to make another step until I finished making a slow 360 degree turn to marvel everything there.  Further inside, are more treasures ... every inch of space is filled with stuff which is hardly found here.  Literally, there are thousand pieces of china ware.  All kind of brands.  You name it, Paragon, Doulton, Aynsley, Royal Albert, Spode, Wedgewood .... the list goes on and on.  I just couldn't believe what I saw.  To own  a set of fine china is like a dream come true for me.  But here I am, looking at hundreds of set is just unbelievable.  The amount of money and time hunting for all these is really incredible.  He must be spending a bomb!

There are two wall clocks in the living room that caught my attention.  It's from a reputable European clock maker.  He said that he has more of this clock in the room. "What! you have more?". True enough, in his room he has more, not one, not two but eleven more.  Yes! eleven high quality European pendulum clocks hanging on the bedroom wall.  I guess I have to learn some technique of "flattery talk" now, so that I can use it on him.  "Please ... please ... my dear friend, can I have one of those?  Any design is fine with me, just sell me one".  But knowing him, I think my mission will be easily accomplished without much problem as he is one nice guy.  Insya Allah.

At home, lying on the bed and recalling all those treasures .... making me hard to sleep.  I just couldn't close my eyes... The beautiful china, the clocks, the shabby stuff, the lamps ... keep popping before me.  And I know, I will have difficult time focusing my work at office for the next few days or maybe weeks.

Undeniably, he is a true collector.  I salute you, my friend.

Sad farewell

Goodbye to Desmond
Goodbye to Azri
Goodbye to Johnny
Goodbye to KT

Goodbye one after another, leaving just the memories that were made.

The economy continues to claim more of my beloved colleagues.  Last Friday, 30th January was KT's last day.  I was shocked when I heard about it.  How can they do this to him?  It's not his fault!  He's not the one who bring down the regional sales.  Not him!  It's not fair!

So, it's with a heavy heart that I waive farewell to him.  Bye...KT.

Chinese New Year project

Finally, the day I'm waiting for is here.  I actually counting down for this super long holidays. This is the only time I can get things done completely. OK, what have I achieved this time round? Let see....

Friday 23rd Jan :
9.30 am took train to PS to get some lace materials. Bought 15 meters from Spotlight for my bed canopy. From there, took cab to Textile Centre to get some sewing stuff.  Have a quick sinful lunch at Victory before jumping into a cab to Huarong. Meet my SIL and her daughter there. We didn't buy anything, just snapping photos secretly and jot down the code number of our prospective pieces.  I already put my eyes on the small TV console. Will ask Yani to get for me one.  Reached home at 5.30 pm. Puas hati!

Saturday 24th Jan :
7.30 am sent hubby to work with Fahmi & Faris. After that, we have breakfast at Enaq before heading to Pusara Abadi to visit mom and dad. Then, shopping for groceries at Jalan Bahar ShengSiong. After shopping, went to Nick's place to pass some stuff. Sit there for a while. Sent Faris home first before continuing our journey to Salvo Bukit Timah. Can't find things I wanted. Next, we went to Country Haven at Rail Mall. Finally, I found what I like, a small bedside table. Cash & carry. Reached home at 2 pm. Afternoon ... start my project - ROOM MAKE-OVER. Lepas magrib, went to IMM Home-Fix to get some paint. The colour I wanted, Kiwi Green is from Jotun, unfortunately Home Fix don't carry this brand. Kal said that Dewi had two extra cans left over from her painting project. Called Dewi, but she's not at home. Went back sadly. Continued with the make-over until around 3am.

Sunday, 25th Jan :
Morning .... make-over is half way through. Went to Dewi's house at 1pm to collect the paint. From there, dropped-by at Darul Shifa to visit Cik Lan for a while. Reached home at 3pm. Start painting .... In between painting, I managed to help Sarah with her Chocolate Chip muffins she baked for Abang Ali.

Tonight, we have a re-union dinner at my brother's house, eat steam boat. We left Abang Ali's house at 11.30pm.  Once home, I hurriedly continued the painting until around 2am.

Monday, 26th Jan :

Painting .... pasting .... painting .... pasting .... Finally at around 5pm, the painting and the wall covering are done. Now, is the time to clear the mess. It took me around 4 hours to clean-up the room. Around 10pm after all the mess are cleared, I then started to sew my bed canopy. Surprisingly, I can also enjoy watching the malay movie Kabil something while sewing. Very sad story. Went to bed at 2.30am.

Tuesday, 27th Jan :
Most of the major things are done. Today, do only the touch-up. Managed to clear some official emails too. Lepas maghrib, went to Adam Road for dinner. Sleep early tonight in a brand new room.

Wednesday, 28th Jan :
Kids are back to school.  But husband and myself are still enjoying our off day today. 7.00 am sent Sarah to school.  8.00 am sent Fahmi to school but before that, we have breakfast at Enaq. From Ngee Ann, we went to Mustafa, just jalan jalan and get some stuff. Around 10.30 we went to Park Mall. I'm actually looking for a good quality wall clock. Unfortunately, the shop "Thinkers Novelty" is closed and will only re-open on Friday, 30th. Most shops are closed, so we left empty handed. My husband tak putus asa, suggested we go to IMM. The clock shop there is also closed. Aargh..... we have our lunch at Bagus before going to Jurong West to fetch MIL home.

So, the past 4 to 5 days were very busy for me. But, I'm satisfied with the result. Some of you guys may not like it, but I like it alot. I guess, it's worth all the frustration and the running around. Here are some of the photos of the made-over room.
