On Thursday, 13th Sep 2018, at 5:15am, just before Subuh, my beloved husband took his final journey from this world to his Creator, after battling cancer for 1 year 9 months. It was not an easy battle. It has given me immense pride that he had fought it all the way with great strength and grace, but Allah had different plans for him. Indeed, he was a warrior.
I am grateful to Allah for planning everything so perfectly for us. We managed to perform our Hajj in August 2018, after waiting 7 years for our turn. His determination to perform the Hajj was overwhelming, even though he was admitted to the hospital just days before our trip and was fortunate enough to be discharged on the eve of our departure. I was blessed to be able to go on that holy trip with him. That 19-day trip was beyond challenging for him, especially with his deteriorating health. It was an immensely heavy emotional rollercoaster we were on, having shed many tears. Allahu Akbar! 😢😢
Alhamdulillah, he managed to perform all the Hajj rukuns himself. Syukur ya Allah. After the blessed 19 days there, we arrived SG safely on Thursday, 31st August. His face glowed with happiness and contentment the second he saw his children and grandchildren welcoming him warmly at the airport. However, he was feeling sickly after that and his condition was going downhill with every passing day. We took him to the hospital on Monday, 3rd Sep, when he complained of breathlessness.
He spent 10 weak and sedated days in the hospital and had eventually left us in the morning of Thursday, 13th Sep. Hours before he left, we kept saying the syahadah in his ears and recited surahs to him, just like we did every day the past couple of days. Anak2 and I were holding him as his soul raised from his body. Allah made me fulfill my promise to him that I would never leave him no matter what came through our life. We have stood by him all this while and talked to him about everything. It was a special moment for the five of us, there was so much peace in that room. Inna lillahi wainna ilaihi rojiun...
That day, I did not only lose my husband, I lost my best friend and partner in everything. Our whole life was around each other. We were always together. He gave me the most beautiful 34 years & three amazing children. I could not have asked for a husband better than him. He loved me & accepted me with all my flaws. Thank you Allah for lending him to me.
May Allah rest your soul, almarhum Hj Osman Bin Hj Mansor in eternal peace and place you in the highest level of Jannah. Aamiin...
