Two weeks ago, we drove up north to KL with the kids for a short getaway. As Fahmi has not been to Cameron Highland before, we decided to spend a day there before heading to KL for the weekend. We are treating ourselves to a one night splurge in this Tudor styled country house hotel. As a matter of fact, I saw this place on our last trip to the highland last year. We actually drove past this Tudor styled mansion sitting on a hill overlooking a lake and I told myself that I will return .... Finally, we are here. The lake may not be much to look at (unlike Lake District), but the old English countryhome design and decor that charm me. It's a small hotel with only 18 rooms which means it's never too crowded. The gardens are beautiful with flowers of every colour. Walking about the grounds of Lakehouse, taking in all the cool fresh air of the highlands, especially if it has just recently rained is so relaxing. Indeed it feels just great to smell the nice fresh evergreen lawn, the scent is indeed captivating and refreshing.
Everything about The Lakehouse exudes old-world charm. The first thing that caught my attention is the interior and its setting which reminds me of a typical Bed & Breakfast in England. Especially at the lounge where there's a huge fire place. The smell of burning logs its just so stimulating ... it just bring back memories. And ofcourse... the welcome drink is excellent! It really helps to freshen us up after an "exciting" road trip coming from Tapah.
And also the registration process is unique, we are given a very big and thick book to write our name in there. Hmm... a very old fashion indeed!
Come, let me bring you for a tour around ....
Here are the bedrooms....
It was simply fabulous. It has a four poster queen bed with fine lace draping over it. Relaxation is easy, with big cushy winged antique chairs where you could just sink in and let the big armchair swallow you up. The ensuite bathroom has a spacious vanity, a long bath and a rain shower - Loccitane cinnamon soap was particularly lovely.
More photos...
Not forgetting family shots ....
But the most amazing thing the resort did for us was to wash our car in the morning!
Now, that is quality service.
